How it works.
Community supported agriculture (CSA) is a partnership
between farmers and the local community, in which the responsibilities, risks
and rewards of farming are shared. There is no fixed way of organising a CSA, instead it's a framework to inspire communities to work together with their
local farmers.
My aim with the The Norwich Gourmet Veggie Box is to substitute £10 you would have spent at a major supermarket, with a unique variety of organic ingredients, grown in Norwich, delivered to your work each week! The box will come with a seasonal mix of vegetables, herbs, flowers (decorative and edible) and microgreens. It also includes recipe ideas, nutritional information and the history of the veggies in your weekly box.
The first share will be delivered during June 2015 and the final share will be delivered in November, a total of approximately 24 weeks. With a big dependency on weather it may be the case that the boxes start or end a week later.

The Farm.
The farm is located adjacent to the Marlpitt Community Gardens, along the Marriots Way. The site has been in pasture for many years, and the rich alluvial soil is high in natural fertility. I have a hooped polytunnel for tomatoes and chilies, and another greenhouse facility offsite for seedlings and microgreens.

The Farmer.
My name is Kirt, and I grew up in a small coastal town on the east coast of Australia. My Dad is a chef, and I grew up in restaurants around food.
I completed my Masters in agriculture (MSc Agroecology) at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, and have been lucky enough to work throughout the world on some innovative farms, with some really inspiring farmers.
Working last summer in California on some of the leading "farm to table" restaurants was particularly inspiring, and now in Norwich my goal is to provide interesting local food that’s affordable!
If you have any further questions, or would like a farm tour, please get in touch at: [email protected]
Thanks!
